Larchmont Village (only 1 square mile) has a population exceeding 7000 residents, and the unincorporated Town of Mamaroneck (outside the village) has an additional 13,000 residents. Larchmont is situated less than 20 miles from New York City. Educational Facilities
The Mamaroneck Union Free School District includes the Village of Larchmont, the unincorporated area of the Town of Mamaroneck and part of the Village of Mamaroneck. It has four elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. The community has a long history of supporting quality public school education. In addition to a comprehensive academic program, the system provides enrichment, accelerated and remedial special education Village programs, cultural arts and music programs and physical education programs. Larchmont Village is also home to the prestigious French American School of New York.
 
Recreational Facilities
A walk through Larchmont's historic waterfront "Manor Park" offers beautiful year-round scenic views of Long Island Sound. There are summer concerts outdoors at Flint Park, children's art, music and theater groups, the Larchmont Playhouse movie theater and many fine local restaurants. The Emelin Theatre for Performing Arts is located adjacent to the nearby Mamaroneck Free Library and presents over 200 performances a year of quality and diversified entertainment from jazz and classical concerts to drama and dance. This theatre accommodates an audience of 286 and is fully air conditioned.
 
Houses of Worship
Include St. Augustine's Church, Saints John & Paul Church, Beth Emeth Synagogue, Larchmont Temple, Larchmont Avenue Presbyterian Church and St. John's Episcopal Church.

New Rochelle Information....
"Queen City of the Sound" encompasses 10.4 square miles with 9.3 miles of waterfront. Just 25 minutes to New York City. Population is approximately 68,000. In a recent special education report, the Wall Street Journal sited New Rochelle School District as one of the top 20 in the nation. The New Rochelle Public School System celebrates change and tradition. It continues to build on a history of excellence in providing quality of education and equality of opportunity. Continuing education year-round for adults, special services and programs for students and an active Parent-Teacher Association in each public school continue to improve the quality of life in the community. Several thousand students are enrolled in lona College and the College of New Rochelle. Private and Parochial Schools are also within its borders.
 
Recreational Facilities
New Rochelle boasts almost 230 acres of park-land, more than 40 parks and playgrounds and 9.3 miles of shoreline along the Long Island Sound. Its variety of parks feature walking and riding paths in the woods, open fields and water views. There are pools, tennis courts and community centers located throughout the City, and the City Marina has space for 450 boats and mooring for boats 18' and over.

New Rochelle is known as a city of churches, and justifiably so...there are over 40 houses of worship representing almost every denomination.
